A Day in the Life

Each day includes play, early reading, and hands-on learning. With caring teachers and clear routines, kids feel safe, supported, and excited to come to school.

The change that I've seen in my boys since they started at Success has been great. They are a lot more confident in themselves and their work.

Questions? We Have Answers!

Is Success Academy a public school?

Yes, Success Academy is a public charter school. We are a free, public school currently open to children in Grades K-1.

What is a public charter school?

A public charter school is a publicly funded school that operates independently from the traditional public school system. That independence gives charter schools the freedom to innovate, whether that means a different school schedule, a specialized curriculum, or unique teaching methods, all with the goal of better educating students.

Like traditional public schools, charter schools are free, open to all students, and held to state and federal standards. What sets them apart is accountability for delivering results for kids and families: each school operates under a charter agreement with specific academic and operational goals and can be closed if those goals aren't met.

When are you opening?

Success Academy Miami will open in Florida for the 2027-28 school year. We will begin with kindergarten through first grade, with plans to expand up to middle school in future years.

Where are you located?

We’ll open five schools in these neighborhoods: North Miami, Allapattah, Hialeah, and Homestead. See the full list with details below:

  • Success Academy North Miami Elementary School; 13110 NE 8th Ave, North Miami, FL 33161
  • Success Academy Miami Jackson Elementary School; 1751 NW 36th St, Miami, FL 33142
  • Success Academy Westland Hialeah Elementary School; 4000 W 18th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33012
  • Success Academy Hialeah-Miami Lakes Elementary School; 7977 W 12th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33014
  • Success Academy Homestead Elementary School; 2351 SE 12th Ave, Homestead, FL 33034

Why do you share space with a high school?

Sharing space with high schoolers gives our students access to beautiful facilities they wouldn't normally have: auditoriums, gyms, track and fields. We have safely operated schools this way for 20 years, by thoughtfully using available space and coordinating schedules and shared areas as needed. Through partnership with school teams, we work hard and ensure a safe, consistent experience for all students.

Do you offer transportation to and from school?

Yes. School transportation will be provided through Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). All bus routes, schedules, and eligibility requirements will strictly follow standard M-DCPS district transportation practices and guidelines.

Detailed route options and opt-in instructions will be shared with families closer to the start of the school year.

Does it cost anything to apply or to attend a Success Academy school?

No, we are a free public charter school! There is no tuition or application fee at Success Academy. We also provide all children with everything from free meals and school supplies to iPads, arts and athletics supplies, and their first uniform set. It's 100% free: no hidden fees, no fundraising, no catch.

What programs and resources are free?

Success Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school. We provide everything your child needs to receive a world-class education free of charge. This includes their first uniform set, iPads, school supplies, sports gear, instruments, after-school programs, and more.

Our model focuses on a joyful, rigorous education where children spend each day playing, making friends, and discovering their passions through daily academics, arts, and athletics. Our goal is to develop the confidence and independence that will set them up for school, and life.

How is Success Academy free?

Success Academy is a public charter school, which means it's funded by federal, state, and local tax dollars, just like traditional public schools. That funding means there's no tuition, no fees, and no cost to families. Every seat is free.

How are you funded?

Success Academy is a public charter school, which means we are publicly funded through per-pupil dollars allocated by the state of Florida, just like traditional public schools. With this public funding, we provide a world-class educational experience at no cost to families

Are there any additional fees or necessary fundraising required?

No! Success Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school. We ensure everything your child needs to learn is provided free of charge, without fundraising. This includes their first uniform set, iPads, school supplies, sports gear, instruments, after-school programs, and more.

Who can attend?

For the 2027-28 school year, we will accept students entering kindergarten and 1st grade, and we will expand by one grade each year.

What is the minimum age requirement for my child to attend?

Kindergarteners must be 5 years old by September 1, 2027. Please apply for the grade you feel best fits your child. Once we receive your application, our Enrollment team will review it and contact you if any additional information is needed regarding grade placement.

How do admissions and the charter school lottery work?

Our admissions is a lottery-based enrollment. Once the application opens, you can submit an application for each eligible child for a seat. Success Academy seats are assigned through a randomized lottery process.

There are two possible lottery outcomes: acceptance or placement on the waitlist. Your lottery results will indicate your status at each school you applied to. In the months following the lottery, waitlisted families may be offered acceptance to Success Academy schools.

Our free lottery is held each year, and results are distributed to families via email and published in the application dashboard soon thereafter. Please ensure your contact information is up to date.

How do I apply?

Our application is now open. Families can apply here. Your best chance of securing a seat is to apply before our lottery in late fall.

When can I visit the school?

We will be offering school tours starting September 2026. Apply now to be the first to know when tours are open.

What are the school hours?

Our school hours are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:50 AM – 4:20 PM

Wednesday: 7:50 AM – 12:50 PM (Wednesdays are half-days for students.)

Who is the principal?

Each of our five Miami elementary schools will be led by a Founding Principal, all experienced school leaders who are well steeped in our Success Academy model and are passionate about providing a world-class education to children in South Florida.

We are excited to build extraordinary school communities here in Miami under their leadership. Stay tuned as we announce our Founding Principals soon!

What support is available for children with IEPs?

Our teachers are trained to meet kids where they are and help them grow, and our Special Education (Sprint) team members are there for families for every step of the process. We are committed to serving as many children with IEPs as possible, in accordance with their mandates. We ensure counseling, speech, occupational, and physical therapists are available for our scholars with related service needs.

What if my child does not speak English?

As an English Language Learner (ELL), your child will be fully supported from day one. Our English immersion program uses daily reading, small-group support, and plenty of playtime, where kids naturally practice English together. Our staff is multilingual, although all instruction is in English. We provide family communications in your preferred language.
